PROBLEM: Unable to clone Maxtor 160GB ATA/133 to Maxtor 500GB ATA/133 and maximize the to be cloned partition

Tried Proportional & Manual – Unable to resize Partition - Unallocated remain the same -
Before cloning:
space after: 316.7 GB
When I mouse over to the right side of the displayed partition, I have a cursor with 2 vertical lines and arrows pointing outward - right or left click and drag the partition does not move --

Mouse over to the displayed 149.0 GB NTFS, cursor changes to a 4 pointed arrow
Left click & drag to the far right:
Unalloacted space before: 316.7 GB
Partition Size: 149 GB
Unallocated space after: 0 bytes
Minimum & Maximum size remains 149 GB
<next>
After cloning 316.7 GB (green line) C:149.0 GB (gold line) then furtherest right a small box (green line) Unallocated 7,844 MB -

Repeating the moving the 149.0 GB partition, I am unable to resize the 149.0 GB partition

Last year using TI 8.937 I was ablt to clone the 80 GB to thr present drive (149 GB) - attempted to use that version on this project (same machine) - failed - Upgraded to TI 10 build 4871.

I've also sent technical support this problem along with all the screen shots. I suspect holidays slow down responses.

Also, I attempted to create a secure zone on the clone drive, remove it and specify to allocate all usable space to the system C: partition -- This also fails, the existing 149 GB on the cloned drive does not increase.

What am I doing wrong? I need to use the entire 500 GB on the new drive and I'm totally confused and stumped.

System: Asus P4C800-E Deluxe*, XP-Pro SP2, 3.0GHz, 1GB ram. Correct cables, jumper settings, BIOS LBA supported.

* Last month the Asus P4T533-C failed. mobo swapped, XP-Pro had to be re-installed - no probles with the system
