Hi folks,
I was wondering if anyone who has played around with Vista a bit can help me out. I just started checking this out at work and ran into the Trusted Installer.
Can someone tell me if you change ownership from the Trusted Installer to the Administrator account, would there be any adverse effects on the system?
I have had mixed opinions here at work and would appreciate some insight (or even some links) as whether its ok or not.
Thanks.

Yeah I did not think so either. We changed ownership of the entire C drive with no adverse effects. Though some of my colleagues think it was a mistake to do so.

well it would negate Vista's new security features, but ive already disabled UAC and run as admin so whats the worse that can happen? :P

I hear you on the security features, but I just had to test it. :D
While we are on the subject, does anyone know if there are any tutorials for Vista similar to this? (http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/help/HA101687261033.aspx)

nope. most of the existing tutorials for Vista only cover a specific feature.
like software, im guessing more tutorials will start popping up in January.

Thanks again WSFuser. I had a few colleagues ask me about it, but I have not been made aware of anything yet either.
Hopfully January will bring us some goodies.
Cheers and thanks for your responses.

Why not just disable UAC, even if just temporarily?

Trusted Installer is different from UAC. even if u run as admin, u still cant modify/delete various system files.
