View Full Version : Uninstalling Previous AV Before Installing NOD32?

Hello all.

I have three PC's with NOD32 on two of them and Kaspersky AV6 on the third. I am purchasing a third NOD32 license and will be removing KAV to install NOD32 on the last PC. Previous NOD32 installations went fine, but they had other AV's on them at the time, not KAV.

In the past I have experienced some issues when trying to install a new AV after removing another. Worst experience was trying to install TrendMicro after uninstalling Norton AV 2002 a few years back - had to manually uninstall over 400 Symantec registry entries and still could never get TM to work!

So I am just checking to be safe - has anyone had any such experiences when trying to install NOD32 after removing KAV? Are there any special precautions or actions that I need to take? I'd rather find out now and prepare, if possible, instead of discovering problems after the fact.

Thanks for any advice.

After you uninstall KAV and before you install NOD32 download and run CCleaner if you want to be on the safe side.

Yea, you need to use special tools for Symantec products (http://www.eset.com/download/av-uninstallers.php).
Never heard of a problem with KAV however.

Same here . All the uninstallations of KAV/KIS 6 I have done were trouble free .
