unable upgrading Nod to version 2.7

Hi,
first of all:
---------sorry for my english-----------------
-Windows xp sp2 home with last updates.
-Nod 32 2.50.25 (bought in 2006 Febuary), with latest virus database.
-Other security programs: process guard, jetico personnal firewall, spybot search and destroy with tea timer.

I'm unable to upgrade to nod 2.7.
I can download the file (at this adress http://www.eset.com/download/registered_software.php, and run the install file.
Files are decompressed, the install begins and.................I have this error:

Application défaillante setup.exe, version 2.70.16.0,
module défaillant mfc42u.dll, version 6.0.8665.0,
adresse de défaillance 0x00003c6a.

It's the same thing in safe mode.

If you have any idea, thanks for your help.

Check out this link and do what BlackSpear Says! And also disable all other Security software before you try installing again!

Hmmm,

it seems to me you tried to install a 2.7 (english) over a 2.5 (french - since your OS messages are in French). You cannot install a version with a different language on top of the other, you'll have either to wait for a French version of 2.7 to be released, or to uninstall your 2.5 and install 2.7 afterwards, as Triple Helix suggested.

Follow these instuctions carefully :


1) Download the latest installer for your correct OS (Windows XP) from the ESET site for registed user Full paid version (http://www.eset.com/download/registered_software.php)

2) Goto Control Panel-> Add/Remove programs and Uninstall your old version of NOD32

3) Restart the cmputer when prompt

4) Goto C:\Program files and manually delete the folder ESET

Disable Process Guard and Spybot's Tea Timer . During the installation of NOD32 , it is necessary for the product to write in the Registry . Tea Timer is registry protector and might interfere with eset NOD32's installation . I also suggest you fully disable Spybot's Tea Timer because you won't need it future

5) Install NOD32 from the file you just downloaded in step 1
Use Typical settings

6) Make sure you have stable i-net connection and NOD32 (nodkrn.exe) is allowed to go through your firewall and Update NOD

IcePanther is right , you can't install English version over the French one . NOD32 2.7 is available only is English and Slovak , ESET are currently working on the other languiages versions and they will be soon available if you want to use the French version ;)
