Does anyone know of a program, that can split a file up, into smaller pieces? (Example: Split a 2.0MB file to fit on two floppy disks?) and then re-join them later?

Hi Compo1 :)

Heres a link for a couple of the better looking freeware ones
http://www.greatfreeware.com/Utilities/File_Splitting_Utilities/index1.html

don't really have that problem myself so can't really advise on any software

just thought i'd give you something to have a look at while awaiting better more seasoned advice

EDIT- also some more freeware ones at http://www.filearena.net/splitters_default.html

max splitter free is a pretty good splitter. I have used it a lot and it never fails. You can create a batch file when you split your file so you can reassemble it without max splitter. :)

Thanks, I just downloaded "Max File Splitter" and installed it, I'm gonna test it in a bit...

Max splitter seems to have a few more options than most free splitters. I hope you get as much care free use as I have from this program. I liked it because I could split a 5mb file on multiple floppies and my son could reassemble it right off the disc's :)
