Hi, i have downloaded and installed AMD Athlon™ 64/FX Processor Driver for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 Version (x86 and x64 exe) 1.3.2.16.
I installed that driver and then changed the power options to mimimal.

yes u should be set.

as for your second query:
-{ Quote: "Checking for Cool ‘n’ Quiet functionality:

1. With no programs running with Windows at idle, start WCPUCLK or similar program.
2. If the displayed clock frequency is approximately 800 MHz, Cool ‘n’ Quiet is enabled and
functioning correctly.

Checking for Cool ‘n’ Quiet functionality (Windows XP only):

1. Click on Start, and open up the Control Panel. Click on Performance and Maintenance, and
then click System.
2. Under General, if the displayed clock frequency is approximately 800 MHz, Cool ‘n’ Quiet is
enabled and functioning correctly." }-
i havent heard of WCPUCLK, but CPU-Z is an alternative.

You can use AMD's Power Monitor to see the actual throttling of CPU and FSB as well as CPU voltage.

You are welcome, make sure to have the latest versions, Power Monitor got an update yesterday, Cool N' Quiet as well got a update recently, I still feel AMD's driver does a far better job than Intel's Speed Step, I have recently upgraded to C2D from AMD dual core and feel that despite Intel's claim to a lower power CPU using smaller 65nm tech, AMD CPU runs cooler and uses less power while idling than Intel's, only at peak full load does Intel consume less than AMD.
