only one as on-access scanner and the other as your backup on-demand one..
kindly note that you have to disable the on-access scanner to use the backup AV to insure that the backup scanner has full access to all files, in most cases if the on-access scanner is on, it denies access to alot of files..

You can, but as minacross has stated, definitely not recommended as they will conflict with each other and cause system instabilities.

You can have several Antivirus programs on your computer but generally only ONE is run as a Real Time Monitor, continuously checking your files. The other AV's are then run as On-Demand scanners i.e. you choose when to run them.

Even having 2 different AV programs installed on the same computer can cause sytem instabilities, even when you have only one as the running guard and the other as a backup scanner.

So overall not recommended. Why not choose an Antitrojan scanner or simply use one of the many on-line AV scanners as your layered defence?
