recovery system state

I had a user say OK to a HP PC recovery which took his system back to its original state when I first set up the machine loosing all the system settings and files. I own Acronis Disk Director Suite 10. Can I use the recovery toolt to take my system back to its settings before this occurred? It was previously not installed

As I understand your post, the HP machine has been re-imaged with the default HP provided OS file.

In this case I'm afraid DD will not help you. It can recover disk structure information, but not file content.

The re-imaging will have wiped all previous disk info.

True Image would have done what you were hoping, though only if an image of the actual in use system had beem made.
