Does security update 924191 cause conflict with Tiny Software

Hi all,

My system WinXP Pro freezes more than once over the lasts weeks at moments that I run an exe file that is unknown to my Tiny Desktop Firewall 2005. Actually Tiny should pop up asking me what to do.

But my system freezes. Windows Task Manager can still be opened. The new exe file is listed as service, but cannot be killed. Sysinterrnals Process Explorer can not be run. I have to reset.

I never reset. I keep my system clean, accept that I do install MS-Securety Updates. I did install update 924191 (Vulnerabilities in Microsoft XML Core Services). Tiny stores its rules in XML format.

Is there anything known about conflicts between 924191 and Tiny? Should I uninstall 924191?

I have this update and am running Tiny Firewall Professional 2005 6.5.126 with no problems whatsoever.

Maybe try a system restore?

In the meantime I decided to deinstall the update, and see if that has any effect. System restore might be possible, but if I dont know what I am up against...

Actually, mine is running fine too. Problems ocurred when I am starting a exe that was unknown to Tiny, and instead of the usual pop up my system freezes. The relation with Tiny is a guess. Tiny indeed uses an XLM parser, but installed one too:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\PFShared\xmlsdp.dll

That sequence ocurred and I am not advancing.

I had no problems in the last days, but it was anyway rather rare (ocurred in total 4-5 times). Once I had to open my machine and reset my BIOS to have it start up again. I tested some of my hardware (memory), nothing revealed, so it might be hardware related.
