I recently used the Acronis OS selector to be able to boot into the Disk Director suite to delete an XP partition. When I rebooted to get back to vista the OS Selector failed to recognize Windows Vista. Is there anyway short of eraseing my hard drive to get Windows Vista to boot again without the OS Selector?
I have Vista RC2 installed

There is a post here somewhere about that, you'll need to copy NTLDR and boot.ini back into your root directory.
Look here vista (http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=148352) for further info

Windows Vista does not use NTLDR

No but OSS at the moment does :( . Otherwise it can't find the boot files.
So you'll need to hunt down your XP CD and extract ntldr.

Ok, I tried the steps listed in the post mentioned. OSS recognizes it but Vista still refuses to boot.

Well, I've yet to load RC2 onto my machine, but as you've wiped XP and only got Vista, why not perform a repair install with Vista? It'll remake the boot partition, and you won't lose anything else you've already installed.
OSS of course won't work - but by the sounds of it you don't need it with a 1 OS system.

Have you tried just disabling OSS from its boot menu? You then get to chose which os to boot after (vista in your case).
That way you know if it's a vista problem or oss.
You can re-enable oss with the acronis bootable disk if you want to, or just erase the bootwiz folders if you want to complete the uninstall of oss.
I've tested my method in the link with RC2 and it worked for me.

I was able to re-enable it and get it to recognize the XP loader but it still wouldn't boot. I'm preaty sure now that its a Vista problem.

I use to have 2 OSes, but thats what this whole thing is about. I booted the Disk director suite with OSS to delete XP. Then everything went crazy.
Also didn't know that you could do a repair installation of Vista.
