I'm pretty certain it's just an ordinary BMP in the collection of Desktop Background files. *Try right-clicking a free part of the desktop, select Properties, Desktop, and scroll through the list until you see the one you recognise. *Thus, you'll have its name and you can use file search to locate it.

Thanks for the responce but Im not looking for the wallpaper bmp's.
Im looking for the Microsoft operating system bootup screen that says
Windows 95 or 98 or Me.
I know there a way you can bypass it but Im looking for the file itself.
Win-95 is hidden in c:\logo.sys and/or ip.sys. but Win-Me is not the same.
Ive looked but they must have it hidden real good somewhere else. ???

Open regedit or whatever registry editor you use. Go to this registry key.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar

If you have a customized logo you will see BrandBitmap (38 pixels square) and SmBrandBitmap (22 pixels square). If you simply delete these keys it returns to the default spinning window. Or if yopu want to modify the bitmap itself you can also customize according to desire. *

Here are a couple MS articles on changing or modifying the spinning window, the title bar and customizing the search features. It is pretty easy to do. You shouldn't have any trouble.

Here is a good article explaining customizing IE and Windows.
http://www.techsupportalert.com/search/t1145.pdf

It is a pdf file so you will need to have a reader for it.

For the boot logo this article explains doing it in win 2000

http://www.littlewhitedog.com/reviews_other_00021.asp

On Windows 95, 98 and Me the start logo should be located in C:\logo.sys and then the exit logos should be located at c:\windows\logow.sys and c:\windows\logos.sys

This page will explain it.

Please remember to back up before messing in the registry and system files. I hope this stuff helps
