Hello,
I run F-prot as my primary av. I also have anitvir for a 2nd on demand scanner.I have turned off all running processes for antivir so that there is no conflict with the real time protection from F-prot.
Am I kidding myself? Is there a problem having this setup?

I run some of my PCs the way your running yours, and I have no problems. As long as you use a browser safer than IE, and something -- anything -- for real-time antispyware protection, e. g., WinPatrol, Arovax, SG, you'll be OK.

It would depend on the method used -{ Quote: ""...have turned off all running processes for antivir ..."" }- as it has been reported that each Update can "turn the Guard on", so just watch out for that.

That shouldn't be a problem.

Never heard of an update turning the guard on when used as a scanner only.

I think there will be no problems if the 2nd one is kept permanently inactive
