When I was using Nod32, I used the built in Windows XP Firewall, they worked well together. I experienced absolutely no problems with this combination.

I used Outpost Pro for a long while with NOD32, but fairly recently switched to Comodo, so my vote registers Comodo. Another computer uses NOD with Windows XP FireWall, and has no complaints. (Both computers are behind a router, btw.)

I already used NOD32 with Outpost PRO and CHX-I, but now I'm using Comodo Personal Firewall and I think that I will not switch to another firewall for a long time... :)

Do you use any application firewall?
I've used CHX for a while, but it looks more like a packet filter package.

At the moment it looks like the majority is using Comodo, Optout & Look 'n' stop. Dunno what to say about 'others'. Amazingly almost 1 out of 5 use Windows firewall.

No application firewall that controls network access. However, I do have SSM which is an application firewall, but not in terms of network control, but rather a HIPS. It is more than sufficient for my needs, and outbound filtering isn't really pivotal in my opinion, since it stops malware from accessing the internet that is installed on your pc. So, since I block anything from installing with SSM backed by NOD32, I am good to go. Also, packet filters are sooo light, fast, and handle well under high intensity things(like games and p2p).

Given the poll results (no NOD user using ZA) I'm thinking to have ago with CHX and any HIPS/process guard...... should I ? Light 'n' fast.... maybe diamondcs processguard?
Blutarsky

To be honest it looks like processguard misses port opening attempts.....and network attempts

I rely on the firewall in my router. I use SSM's basic network firewall to control outbound connections.

For now, I am using Jetico 1. Lots of popups at first but once trained has not bothered me much with them of late. Very light on resources and very secure.

After switching from ZA two years ago, I came upon Outpost Pro. I use this w/ NOD32 on the main boxes in the house / office. I use Comodo w/ Antivir on my daughters boxes. If I didn't have a three year family license for Outpost I'd use Comodo for sure. So my vote goes for Outpost.
Boy, that took a while:gack:

Is there a chance to ask the moderator to add the missing firewalls in my original list? He shuold also add votes for those firewalls.
BTW I've thrown in the bucket ZA7, after a BSOD and moved to looknstop (trial) .......how do I change my vote?;D

Just to update my vote...went from NAT router...to a NAT linux based router with outbound and malware scanning, Endian.

With NOD32 in the past I have used the Norton 2006 firewall, Jetico, Comodo and am currently using ZA 4.5. I have liked them all but have the Internet Lock feature with ZA which I cannot find anywhere else. Plus I think ZA 4.5 is a pretty good firewall and suits its purpose. I also run SSM with it.

Comodo Personal Firewall Pro - absolutely cost free - works very well with NOD32.
As a very satisfied user of both these products I feel justified in posting this link the CPF and other freebies:-
Comodo FREE products (http://www.comodo.com/products/free_products.html)
Free to try and if you like them you just keep right on using them, no NEED to buy.
To keep an even keel, although not much point preaching to the converted, this is a link to Eset:-
NOD32 30 Day Trial (http://www.eset.com/download/index.php)
Plenty of folk here like it.
