What exactly does restoring MBR and Track 0 do ?

Am I right in thinking it restores the complete MBR (ie. the first sector (512 bytes) on the hard disk) which consists of the following ?


the bootcode
the volume bytes
the partition table
the signature bytes

According to a previous clarification by Acronis Support the partition table is created anew on any restore.

All the other items should be restored, IMO, but I have never seen them specified.
