Do you have the update server set to Choose automatically? If so, what version are you using? Full version 2.50 or 2.51, evaluation version 2.51.2x or the latest beta 2.7?

That's really weird. I'd suggest you continue as follows:
- download NOD32 2.7 (beta) per the instructions here: http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=152249
- uninstall NOD32
- restart the computer
- delete the "program files\eset" folder manually
- install NOD32 2.7
- restart the computer
- update NOD32

This is a problem with your TEMP/TMP variables. Continue as follows:
1. right-click the "My computer" icon and select Properties
2. on the Advanced tab, click the "Environment variables" button
3. make sure both the user (upper panel) and system (lower panel) TEMP and TMP variables point to existing folders.
4. I'd recommend that you install NOD32 2.7 beta, see http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=152249

Hello,
Is there a C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\ directory on your computer? If not, does creating one resolve the problem?
