All
I've been testing several security setups.
* KIS 6; great protection, bit slowdown
* Bitdefender security suite 10; great protection, bit faster
* Panda 2006 & 2007; SLOW
* Trend Micro 2007; surprised me, pretty good
* NOD32 + LnS; fast
* NOD32 + Outpost; slows down
* Norton 2007; great
* Mcafee; 2006 and 2007
* BullGuard 7; fast but not sure about the protection?? great service though
I really would love antivirus, antispyware, firewall ánd antispam
What do you think?

Well the protection is actually the same like BitDefender 10 only that it has a better firewall engine:Outpost4

Hi Sjoeii,
You should try AVG Internet Security. Fast and cheap for all in one protection.

i think that is a great summary,
id also recommend avg internet security,
you can add f-secure internet security 2007 as SUPER SOLID SECURITY, but slow boot time and scan speed.
if you were thinking of going down the nod32 + firewall road, id have to recommend outpost and definatly not LnS

i just dont like it and is not really in the same league as outpost 4, never tried comodo firewall which is free., but some good reviews from that, maybe he should give that a whirl.

I had debated NOD32 plus Outpost 4 road but I saw now Outpost is a subscription basis so you have to renew this each year and that to me gets somewhat expensive compared to suites but I am sure the program is great as has often been said here.

weren't you a huge fan of trend suite claiming it was the greatest product ever made? I don't see that same enthusiasm as you had before?
anyway I have been running the beta of KIS and it seems extremely fast compared to previous versions, it is among the best with virus protection, the firewall seems ok to me, but I am not an expert on any of this software, spam filters seem to be working, no spam comes through to my acct. (you can get it for around $30.00) if you know where to look. http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=149546 I started a thread about KIS for $34.99 but I have seen it for less since then. Also I am running spysweeper pro version, and it was running very well until this week when they released the new version with the anti-virus option for some reason when I downloaded the new version (without the anti-virus which they want an extra $10.00 for) my system seems to have had a slowdown, not drastic, but you notice it a little bit.
I would like to try NOD32 V3 suite when it comes out hopefully it will be out soon.

Gary" }-This is a common misunderstanding. The subscription basis to which you refer is for updates and upgrades to the firewall and the antispyware. The firewall can be used indefinitely, it is just the updates that stop.

OR
Option 1- you could go with Online Armor AV+ which is antivirus, HIPS, spam killer, firewall, & more -- all in one package.
OR
Option 2- For a low-cost, fast, great protection, small footprint combo -- AntiVir-PE (free), Kerio 2.1.5 (free), System Safety Monitor (paid version). It's all you need, & it's faster than a raw oyster sliding down a goat's throat.

What do you think?" }-In my mind it's hard to beat this, payed or free, AVIRA AntiVir PE 7 Classic, AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5 (I suppose it's free after the trial without realtime protection), COMODO Firewall and Firefox 2.0 plus they are ALL free. :)
Best regards,
Firefighter!
