Hi,
I have ATI 8.0, upgraded to the latest build.
I am running a 160GB master HDD only recognized as 137 because of what I didn't know or have when I built this system.
I believe that my MOBO supports 48-bit LBA. WIN XP PRO has been updated to SP2, and that does support 48-bit LBA.
I just bought a new 300GB HDD.
Here is what I would like to do:
1. Back up my system, as usual, using ATI, to a USB HDD.
2. Remove the 160GB master and replace with the 300GB.
3. Restore what is on the 160GB drive (backed up on the USB drive) to the new 300GB drive and have it show as one big 300 (or so) GB drive.
I have read hundreds of posts about similar goals, but they are all muddied with other issues.
Can anybody add or tell what steps I should take? I can't find anything pertinent in the ATI help file, and maybe I didn't search through enough posts here. If I missed anything, please let me know.
I am not a newbie to building or maintaining systems, but have limited experience with ATI and partitioning, and do not want to split my 300GB drive into multiple small ones.
Suggestions?
Thanks,
Cogitovici
