Hi a friend of mine wants a layered security package rather than all-in one suite,
that is effective and light on resources. He doesn't mind about paying for some software. What do think about my suggestions

AV= Nod32
Firewall = comodo or kerio (can't decide help please).
Anti-malware/spyware= spy sweeper (he already has liscence) Avg Anti-spyware. (liscense due to expire).
Other Security= Cyberhawk.

Is the above enough? he has in the past visited some very dodgy websites (free screensavers, get this free etc etc and he uses limewire).

I personally think having spysweeper and AVG together is overkill, what do you think.
He is also looking for anti-spam to incorporate into MS Outlook any Ideas
I have suggested Thunderbird but he needs convincing on that!
Thanks In advance for your help

I would add Mcafee siteadvisor, it is good imo. Keep avg anti-spyware as a free sanner, and look into trend micro anti-spyware, it's doing really good for me right now and it's light! Keep cyberhawk, and comodo ain't bad at all.

I have a very similar set up - Nod32, AVG, Comodo as well as a few other free programs, spywareblaster, Spybot etc..

I have no idea about cyberhawk and am looking into this as well as process guard.

You are using 2 AV's at the same time on your computer?

you have money to spend, well ... here goes.

kaspersky antivirus
outpost 4 firewall
trend micro antispyware
get a router with firewall aswell

as for spysweeper, i have it with avg suite and it seems to find the same things as avg, but it has those consistant 'shields' running, there are many of them and add further security.

I suggest Comodo.
Kerio is a good rules-based firewall though.

Why not use AVG AS as a free backup scanner?
