Install the WIFI ruleset only if needed. Do you get any problems without it?

Yeah it seems to be working ok without encryption and without the wifi ruleset imported. Does look n stop by default block encrypted connections?

No.
Your wireless connection could use the special "WPA" encryption protocol, where your router repetitively refreshes the encryption key with your computer ("Temporal Key Integrity Protocol" (TKIP). This produces some trouble with LnS, since it starts blocking some packets. So when you use WPA, you should import the wifi ruleset.
