View Full Version : Strange Folders in Application Filtering

Hi
Just had a look at my application filtering permissions and to my surprise at the top of the list were about a dozen folders all with a ? under application path. Most had outbound permission blocked but a couple have permission granted. I've quickly removed them all.
I've no idea where these have come from as LnS hasn't asked me for anything peculiar recently.
The only recent apps on my system are SSM and Registry Mechanic.
Any thoughts anyone? Anything suspicious going on?

Old Monk,
I had this same issue a few months ago and brought it here to the forum.

I just deleted these empty folders, with no negative consequence at all.
If you are uneasy about doing this, perhaps you can wait to hear from the other users.
Good luck!:D

Thanks cdr
Posted in bit of a rush as I was more than a bit disconcerted, so didn't search the forum as I would normally.
Thanks indeed for the link. When you say you deleted the folders, I guess you mean removed them from the app filtering list because I've no clue where those folders are on my hard drive.
Please correct me if I'm mistaken and you actually located the folders.
Thanks again for your response.

Old Monk,
My pleasure! Yes, that's right, I just removed them from the apps list in LnS. As I said, there were no problems whatsoever from doing that. I was glad they weren't more "sinister" than that!:)
