Hi,

I have just installed Avg Anti-Spyware and when ever it tries updating itself I get suspious behaiour messages from ZoneAlarm;

[Avg Anti-Spyware is trying to change your network settings by modifying the file; WINDRIVER\etc\Hosts]

I was just interested in what this means as when I was using Ewido Anti-spyware it would just require access, not try and modify and system settings.

-{ Quote: "[Avg Anti-Spyware is trying to change your network settings by modifying the file; WINDRIVER\etc\Hosts]" }-I found this recent ongoing thread via a forum search for host with an explanation by ewido support.

AVG AS wants to modify my host file?? (http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=150142)

-{ Quote: "AVG Anti-Spyware is trying to modify it, if it has ewido.net manipulations, then it will remove the line. The check will be done before an update starts.

This will be done to ensure that ewido.net won't be redirected by a threat.

Vinzenz" }-HTH,
Bubba
