Linux loader stalls when ThinkPad docked

To be brief: After much fiddling around since I had a system failure, I can get the Linux loader to complete and display the GUI for archive selection to restore if my TP is undocked. Once docked, The Linux loader stalls when trying to present the GUI but the system is still responsive to a CAD reboot.

What might someone need to know to help answer this for me?
