Will point releases for the AVG 7.5 program itself be pushed out automatically via Live Update? For example, will the bug fix for the auto-update problem be issued shortly via Live Update or will we have to wait for an official announced release to download and install it manually?

I received this emailtoday:
Dear AVG user,
Grisoft is announcing the release of a new line of products - AVG 7.5.
The migration of current users of AVG to AVG 7.5 will be performed
by Optional update. This update is marked "Optional" and will
be presented as a choice to the customer in the first half of the week
beginning of October 9th, 2006.
In order to correctly initialize the new AVG functions, this update
might require computer restart!
List of AVG Anti-Virus 7.5 enhancements
* Improved virus detection based on better heuristics and NTFS data
streams scanning
* Smaller installation and update files
* Improved installation for 64-bit Windows systems
* Language selection ability during installation
* User interface enhancements
* New feature "Security status" added to control the AVG status with:
o Green color - all AVG components are fully functional
o Red Color - some of the components is in an error state
o Yellow color - some of the components is in an error state, but
the users opted manually, that such state should be ignored
USERS OF REMOTE ADMINISTRATION AVG ADMIN
Users of remote administration AVG Admin who will not immediatelly migrate
to new AVG 7.5 version should set their AVG TCP Server in menu
"InetLite - Type of update" to "Recommended update" or
simply "Priority update."
In the AVG 7.5 we also release new version of remote administration
AVG Admin. In case of the switch to AVG 7.5 we do recommend to migrate
to new AVG Admin that includes central ability to install, manage
and monitor the additional AVG components.
Some of the new features include:
* Graphical reports - give AVG users the ability to quickly and easily
create well organized reports. Reports can display list of all stations
protected by AVG Admin, most infected stations, most common security
attacks and similar statistics.
* Support for configuration of Anti-Spam component - users can modify
the settings of the Anti-Spam component of individual stations directly
and centrally from the AVG Admin environment
* Support for configuration of Anti-Spyware component - in the AVG Admin
environment, users can activate or deactivate the Anti-Spyware component.
The test results for the anti-spyware are then displayed separately from
virus results.
* Detection of new AVG Admin program - AVG now after start automatically
checks for a new version of remote administration AVG Admin
* Transfers of Firewall protocols to AVG DataCenter - users with active
Firewall component on their stations have the option to set rules
(for applications/services) directly in the AVG Admin environment.
AVG makes it easy to transfer the Firewall protocol from any station
onto the AVG TCP Server.
* Improved product information - AVG Admin environment was optimized
to easily distinguish new AVG products by adding more detailed information
(for instance new installed languages, components etc.)
We believe that all the new AVG products and improvements will be of great
asset to your organization and we are prepared to answer any and all
questions you might have regarding the new AVG additions.
Please feel free to contact our Sales department.

Hmm... I'm interested only in AVG 7.5 Anti-Spyware, not the anti-virus component.

Yes, confusion reins, what a bad move on grisoft's part to make two virtually identical names.::) :thumbd:
As for your question, yes at least when it was not owned by Grisoft smaller fixes etc was pushed out via the updater.:)
