Why different renewal prices?

Why should there be different prices for renewing a licence for NOD32 depending on which country you pick from the list on NOD’s purchase page?

For example, the following are current licence renewal prices; all are in pound sterling rounded to the nearest whole number.

UK £26 (+VAT = £31)
USA £16
Australia £21

The purchase price for a NEW license of Nod was recently adjusted to reflect the USA price in the country you are purchasing from, this was to try stopping people from purchasing from the USA site and then seeking local support from their country of origin.

It may be that the renewal price was not adjusted, in the hope that people would not notice the difference in price between countries when renewing, as generally an email is sent to the user telling of the expiry, and the end user would just see a price drop between new and renewal price, and not think twice about it.

Actually the UK listed price is the new price not renewal - this site currently doesn't show renewal pricing - it is a new site with a few improvements required. You will note that the conversion on that new price is something less than $39 (which by the way is the baseline target for all single license sales on the internet). The difference is allowed as a method to factor in local taxes in attempt to keep the total cost to the consumer about the same.

Granted exchange rate fluctuations will cause daily varitations but the policy is to try to match the $39. price as closely as possible. The alternative would be to only allow internet sales in USD which both our distributors and clients have told us, in very clear terms, is not an acceptable option.

We have an extremely close knit team of distributors and resellers and this global pricing issue is something that we all monitor.

Actually, the price equates to around $48!
