Is this a new version? What's the difference between 2.51.8 and 2.51.30?
PS : English isn't my first language, sorry if there are some mistakes.

My friend told me that there's another product upgrade from Eset (the 2.51.8 one). But the Eset website doesn't tell anything about new upgrade for NOD32 so I think it's better to ask someone first before downloading it;)

You should get the latest version (2.51.26) if you are planning on reinstalling or something like that.

If you search with Google, Eset CH (http://www.nod32.ch/en/download/index.php) with Version 2.51.8 (RedHat, Mandriva, SuSe, etc.) comes up.

NOD32 2.51.26 is for Windows.
NOD32 2.51.8 is for Linux/BSD file servers and mail servers only, but that is an old version. The current version for Linux/BSD is 2.52.5 as described in http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=148545. It looks like http://www.nod32.ch needs to update their site.
Here are the current versions of NOD32 software, as listed on http://www.eset.com/download/registered_software.php .

Hm, Softpedia (http://www.softpedia.com/get/Antivirus/NOD.shtml) is showing version 2.51.30 (July 27th) as the actual Windows version, which is not mentioned on your link to the Eset webpage. Very confusing all the diferent version ???

2.51.30 is the trial version. 2.51.26 is the commercial version.
I know they made some changes to version numbers to minimize confusion, but I see it strikes yet again. Why they use a higher number for the trial version is beyond me. It's bound to be confusing for new users or old timers returning to see if something new has been released.

I see, so 2.51.8 is an older version. The version number makes me confused:(
thanks for the reply!

Hmm elfen_song; ... First you say, there's no reference to 2.51.8 on Esets sites (post #4 - quoted in my reply in #6), then when someone gives you a link to an Eset site, you say that's it.
2.51.30 is a windows version, and the 2.51.8 listed on the Eset site mentioned is a unix version. So, which operating system are you using? :ouch:
While you may have a language barrier it doesn't account for the above.
I can google different variations of 2.51.8 - NOD - Eset etc. and it isn't surprising what the returns are. ::) :lurking:
You can fool some of the people some of the time, but you'll never fool everyone.
Good luck ;) :)

What I mean by there's no reference to 2.51.8 on Eset site, is that there are no reference on the main Eset site (http://eset.com/download/index.php). As you can see they only say 2.5 on their version number.
I'm using Windows XP for my OS. After my friend said about this "new" upgrade, I decided to goggled 2.51.8 (after checking on the main website first) and found the eset site mentioned above. That site tells that ver 2.51.8 is for other OS, so I decided to ask in this forum first before downloading it.
Sorry for not being clear.
