Hello,

After purchasing a second license for a notebook, I had some problems after installing it ::) . The Dutch support gave me a view tip, one of them was this tool. Is there any mention of this tool on this forum? ??? The problem was solved. :D

Not that I remember seeing - you could try the search function if you like, towards the top right.

Best to ask the Dutch reseller you got it from I think.

Thank you fore your answer. The search function gave me no hits.

The email (from the Dutch reseller support) came after I solved the problem by my self. (smart moment :-) )

After downloading Nod32 with the new password en username, installing it, trying to download the update’s, gave me error of a wrong password/username ?. It turn out to be the u8.eset.com server. Picking a server manually solved the problem.

I did not us this tool, but it seems handy ?

You're welcome.

Probably the error with the u8 server was just a glitch. Best to leave the update set to automatic whenever possible.

The tool is probably one they have put together themselves for support so that the can be sure of what uninstall process was used.

Regarding the tool, the properties of the .exe file shows this info, NOD32 Antivirus Removal, File version: 1.0.0.2 , Language English. No big deal :-), the file is always handy for in the future.

Kaspersky and Symantec(to name just two) don't seem to have this worry with tools to remove their software so why should Eset?!

Besides the Eset folder under the section Software in the registry, are there any other entries in the registry that are not removed, and if so, good somebody tell me witch one.

The reason why we have, and need, this tool in The Netherlands,
is because of a problem
for users who used previous version of 'Hitman Pro' with NOD32.

This caused a 'setup.xml' error while trying to uninstall NOD32.

This tool solves that problem.
The removal tool was made by the maker of Hitman Pro.
And (NOD32 NL) is allowed to help their customers with this tool.

It also proofed to be usefull when users have installed NOD32 on top of there previous AV, causing NOD32 to be corrupted.
With the tool you can easilly uninstall the incomplete NOD32 install.
And uninstall the previous AV after that.

And reinstall NOD32 of course.

The link should be great but if you have problems with NOD32 , you'd better post with explanation and details or contact ESET tech support . Otherwise you use this tool on your own responsibility

Hi Blackspear, i can understand that, but remember that the mentioned tool only does the same
as the UNINSTALL at:

Start, Programs, Eset, Uninstall ..

Except that it also works for a NOD32 install that is corrupted.
This made the distributor decide to make it available on 'a certain' website.

But it would be a great idea, if the regular uninstall above will be fixed for the same purpose.

In the meantime if someone has this problem ,
(uninstall of NOD32 doesn't work), you can always log a call at support.
There are other ways to solve this same problem is well.
