Ok, installed FF i think the last time some years ago, so as everybody is talking good about it i will give it a new try. Don't think Opera will loos the _pool_ (pole) position on my PC, but any way. So...

1. Which version of FF is recomanded?
2. There are also a lot of optimized version out there like for Pentium 4 and so on. Do they make sence?
2. Which addons are usefull and proofed in the eyes of Wilders members?

1. 1.5.0.7 ( the latest)
2. I don't know,i just use the normal version on this P4 i have here and it's fast enough.
3. AdBlock plus and NoScript.

That should be enough.

If your refering to the Moox builds, I have not seen them around for quit some time. Read he had a major server crash :o and pretty much lost it all. :'( Was hopeing to try a AMD custom write myself. :(

I think he was referring to swiftfox, but they are builds meant for linux. In terms of which to use, I would recommend 1.5.0.7 if you aren't very adventerous, or if you are, the nightly builds of bon-echo(v2).

Flashgot, in conjunction with your favorite download manager, e.g., FlashGet or Free Download Manager.

Ok, now having two Browser. FF has some nice addons. Usefull, but...
... is there any freeware tool arround for syncronizing the bookmarks of Opera 9 and FF 1.5x?

Personally I'd say to take some night that you don't have anything to do and just visit the extensions site. There's so many there that are really nice that it can be hard to settle on a few, at least if you're like me (and many others). A few that I really like, and use frequently, that others haven't mentioned yet:

bbcodeXtra - makes posting to forums like this easier
SmoothWheel - veeery smooth scrolling
IETab - loads the IE engine in a tab for those sites that require IE
Paste and Go and Plain Text to Link add those features you're probably accustomed to in Opera
Tab Mix Plus - Adds lots of good features, this is always the very first thing I install
Trashmail.net - Disposable email addresses made easy, use in conjunction with SiteAdvisor to help avoid spam lists
Update Nofifier - handy
StumbleUpon - The internet equivalant of Channel Surfing. Lots of good stuff.
AI RoboForm - I don't know how I lived without this before..

There's just too many.. go through the site, it's fun to do anyway.

.... any tool to import the 'wand' of Opera into FF?" }-I doubt you'd be able to import the passwords from Opera since they're likely encrypted. Unless Opera isn't secure about storing your passwords, you wouldn't want another program to be able to extract them.

You can import the bookmarks directly from Firefox, though. Click Bookmarks > Manage Bookmarks, then File > Import, and the wizard will pop up with the option to import your Opera bookmarks.

Just found another extension to add. If you have ever used Opera, the paste and go feature is really nice. Check out "Paste and Go" for Firefox. https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/65/ I`m kicking the tires on it now. :thumb:

I use opera as my default browser but Have Firefox 2.0 installed and it seems to work pretty well. don't know about the extension support though.

Have always had good luck with the MR. Tech Local Install extension when it comes to compatability issues with other extensions and new FF releases. Having said that I do not have any idea how much code may have changed with FX 2........ MR Tech may not work either. ::)

;D Besides the added security it also seems to speed page loads a bit as the flash dose not load unless you allow it.

Those flash stuff also is increasing the CPU usage sometimes to a incredible hight.

Never thought of that aspect.....but I`m sure you are correct.
