Running Vista........behind a router and have an PPPOE DSL connection. I have read the FAQ.
Imported the rules suggested in the FAQ but still can't connect to any internet whatsoever. LNS installes properly but completely blocks me from everything.
I'd love to use this firewall as it is the only one that has all the features I want that will run on Vista. Former Sygate user and had no problems configuring that whatsoever.
Thanks in advance to any that can help!

Which version of Vista are you running ? RC1 or Beta 2 ?
I didn't test yet the RC1.
If you stop Look 'n' Stop, but you keep it installed, is everything Ok ?
If it is, could you try disabling either the application filtering or the internet filtering to identify where the problem is ?
Thanks,
Frederic

Using RC1.
If I stop LooknStop without uninstalling, I stil cannot connect. If it is installed and I exit it, I still cannot connect to any internet whatsoever.

Ok. Unfortunately, this is not a good sign :(
I need to test myself to know if I encounter the same issue or not.

I installed the RC1 and it worked on my system. The connection to internet was not blocked.
One good point is that the installation issue with the Beta 2 is no longer there, the lnsfw driver installs properly on the RC1 with no change on LnS side.
I've noted the following things:
- the automatic selection of the network adapter didn't work properly, I needed to select it manually and to quit/restart Look 'n' Stop.
- the source ports are around 49000 so, the rules using 1024-5000 need to be adapted
- the application filtering is not working by default after the installation, this is again a load order issue. Some registry changes are required to have lnsfw1 started after AFD, and then it works (at least for the basic application detection, for DLL there may be some issues)
- with the default 2.05p2 or p3 drivers there are sometimes a BSOD (like with the Beta 2 of vista), there are driver patch here:

So we worked with wolfgrrl on his PC, and we finally got the same result: Lns working for both Application & Internet filtering 8)
