On a file based backup I keep seeing this Warning in the logs:
Error opening the file. (0x40007)
Tag = 0xF35F747B3B21FA89
<event code="0" id="2" message="Error opening the file. (0x40007)
Tag = 0xF35F747B3B21FA89" module="11" time="1158661804" type="3" />
The backup seems to complete OK without any other errors/warning.
Should I be worried about this warning?
The error messages in TI have always been very very poor, they don't mean much to the end user. Shouldn't it at least tell me which file it has problems opening??

It shouldn't happen AFAIK, I don't do Files and Folders backups with TI, and ideally it would tell you the filename.
First thing I would do is run chkdsk X: /r on the partition. Substitute the drive letter of the partition for X. If it is C, a reboot will be necessary.

The disk is fine. I'd really like to know the filename that it can't open though ...

Hello all,
Thank you for using Acronis Backup Software (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/)
The most probable reason of this error message is denied access to the file.
It means that OS does not allow to access it or access was prohibited by user.
It may also mean that this file is in use this moment etc.
Thank you

My impression was that TI should be able to back up even locked files, I thought there was a way to read even locked files.
So how can I know which file it is? If it's not important I can excluded it from the backup. The error message is not useful at all.
Can you please enhance TI to log the full path of the file it can't open?

Hello,
Actually Acronis True Image 9.0 Home backs up even locked files. The message means that this file is not changeble at all.
Thank you

Changeable? Why would it try to change any of the files it's backing up??
Is there a way to see which file the error occurs on?

Hello,
Acronis True Image does not change any user's file. It may try to move it temporarily.
Thank you
