Okay, I miss the list of MRU programs in my Start Menu. (Win XP SP2).
Is it gone for good since I just ran MRU Blaster? If not, how many times do I have to start a program to make it appear on the list? If it is gone, how do I get it back?

Any that are 'pinned' will not be removed.

No, it will repopulate as you use your machine.

They'll come back to normal in a couple of days, but it depends how frequently you use the programs - there is no set number of times you must use them.
To prevent this happening in future, just click 'Settings' and uncheck the box for 'Windows UserAssist MRU's'.

Thanks. What other MRUs will that leave intact?

UserAssist items are stored in the Registry under these two Keys:-
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\UserAssist\{5E6AB780-7743-11CF-A12B-00AA004AE837}\Count
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\UserAssist\{75048700-EF1F-11D0-9888-006097DEACF9}\Count
It is the data on these Keys that is cleared by that particular function of MRUBlaster.
