Mem vs CPU usage?

What is the difference in the figures for memory usage between Win Patrol under OPTIONS, and CPU usage in Windows Task Manager?
As of this moment WTM shows CPU usage at from 0 – 3%. Win Patrol shows mem usage at 53%.

What do the two figures mean?

your post is unclear. what two values are u referring to and where can they be found?

memory and cpu usage are two different things obviously.

I find the CPU usage within Windows task Manager at the bottom of the window.

Win Patrol Plus has a section "Options" which gives a lot of information and clicking on "Full Report" provides "memory currently in use."

I know there is a difference in the two categories, but I do not know the difference.

I wonder which is the most critical when I read that some such program is heavy on resources. I assume that is memory, but what is CPU usage?

CPU usage is eaxctly what it sounds like. its what percentage of teh cpu a process is using.

just like a process uses memory when running, it also uses ur cpu when running tasks. an antivirus, for example, would use cpu resources when running a scan or when teh realtime component is scanning a big file.

Wouldn't the AV use more memory when scanning?
