Restore Point vs System Restore

Hello Wilders,

I'm a newbie to your Forums. So excuse me if this question has been asked before:

I have the free version of SpywareBlaster v2.6.1. (thank you!!)

My question is this...what is the difference in the SpywareBlaster "System Snapshot" and my XP Home "System Restore". When would I use one over the other?

System Restore is system wide, while SpywareBlaster only captures part of the settings, mostly related to IE, your internet connection etc. typically settings that would be changed by spyware.

To add just a bit:

In the even spyware is installed on your machine, restoring your system to a SpywareBlaster System Snapshot point will restore most settings changed by browser hijackers/spyware and will leave the rest of your system alone (i.e. you won't lose any recently installed programs, or recently changed settings, as restoring your computer with Windows' System Restore can do). So you can try it as a first-step if removal with a program like Ad-Aware or Spybot S & D fails (before resorting to System Restore).
