I´ve ditched my Outpost 3.51.xxx, it BSOD:s way to much on computers with dual core/HT-technology processors. There´s an ongoing discussion about it on http://www.outpostfirewall.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18176

It is nice to see the development of this great firewall, but unfortunately its configuration aren't so good.

I already suggested to put the configuration of the main window, but until now nothing... :(

well i dunno why security companies try to spoil their products by being jack of all and master of none..
Outpost lost its focus from v2.5 onwards and this theory continues even now.
Leak-tests and all is fine by what is the need for those additional stuff.???

I am a Beta-tester. It wouldn't be ethical to get in details here - all I can say that current version (Outpost Firewall Pro ver. 4.0.941.6824 (579) has lots of bugs. Some freeze, even BSOD-occurence. Originally the official release of V4 was scheduled for 1st of Sept., but we haven't got any info - I assume testing goes on for a while...At least Agnitum hasn't closed testing period - neither on mailing list nor on BTS (Bug Tracking System).
It'll be a nice program, with many nice features (my favorite is "Anti-leaking" and "Macros", I do not like "Self-Defense" and "Entertainment-mode" that much).
If U have any question which can be discussed here without getting too deep into details I help U with pleasure!
So I 'd recommend to wait just a little until New V4 comes out...:)

Gotta be honest ,since im behind a router ,and pretty safe surfer (so im not that bothered about leak tests) ,and now that outpost works with the av i use ,i quite like the ad/content/anti spyware /and active content plugins,and use it just for that.I am hoping the anti spam might be ok too ....and that it will still run on 98.

outpost is still a good firewall but i started to have mem usage problem with version:3 onwards and i think with all those stuff added to it version:4 isn't going to be lighter...::) ::)

Also,i also being behind a router,i use firewalls for controlling apps accessing internet.

Anti-leak techniques maybe good for people who need it.

But i think agnitum with version 4 is trying to dish out something more than firewall which may not be liked by all.
