Hi Guys,

When Nod32 scans an incoming email does it also scan an attachement to it, also?

Thanks & Take Care

Except .doc files for some strange reason.

Strange indeed. Also tested with it with eicar in a doc file, didnt detect it.
Then tried it with a txt file and it was detected right away.

Also had it sent to me from Panda, wasn't detected either.

If you want more notes on the bottom of your emails about which parts were scanned you can see it here (http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showpost.php?p=266651&postcount=34).

Cheers :)

Yeah you're right, there's all kinds of crap in a doc file besides the actual text.
But since I'm an old Panda user (and it did detect Eicar in doc files), I thought my Noddy didn't scan them :)
Other files get's zapped right away though.

Sorry to bump this. I didnt realise that NOD should list the files checked. I am sent a lot of emails with attachments from friends. The message on,y reads that the mail was checked by NOD. I have the boxes ticked as petr the link in this thread but no joy.

Any ideas anyone please ???

If you enable the "List all files" option in the IMON setup, it will list all files scanned.

Of course, to get it to work you also have to check the "All email" option under "Checked email confirmations", which I hadn't previously chosen to do. It would be nice if there was another option "Email which is infected or which has attachments", so I could continue to avoid the tag message on simple text emails. Apart from anything else, there is the potential to confuse other users of my PC when they see the "part000.txt - is OK" message on every email.
