Will Windows Vista work on a computer bought in 2004?

Hello, my computer was bought in 2004 so I am assuming I don't have some version of Windows XP called "64 bit". I believe I have the "32 bit" of Windows XP.

I am wondering if I would buy the new operating system Windows Vista when its released if it would work on my PC.
