rte. when i restart my computer the disk checking (blue screen) screen popps up to check my disk. it automatically cancells before i even look at it and i think sumins up help me pleaseeeeeeee!!

Hello,
did u schedule a check disc for errors?
If so, are u hitting any keys just before check disk starts? That will cancel the operation.

nope i do not know how to check my disk drive and i dont know how to schedule them

Hmm.... strange not sure why this would happen. Just to confirm u are running XP?
Also did u notice any suspicious behavior prior to this happening?

rte i installed windows messenger live plus and when that installed i had a security threat then i uninstalled it and restarted my computer then i had the check disk utility and without it being checked it cancelled. so then i tried to restore my computer to yesterday so that i wud start agaiun but that had to be terminated or sumin.!!! but i went on my computer and checked the disck and i scheduled one for when i restrt me computer and it just cancelled it again. grrrr :-[ :wacko: oh and yeh im running xp

Could be some kind of malware was installed at the same time.
If u are able to boot into windows, i would advise u to post a HijackThis log over at this site,
http://gladiator-antivirus.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=10517
for analysis by the experts there and possible malware removal instructions.

Sorry, i'm at a loss as to what u are confused about.
Just follow the step by step instructions on the page i linked too, then post your log and as i said, the good people there will guide u through the removal of any malware if present.
