Registry Snapshot software?

As i did not want to restore everytime a full image when something went wrong with the Registry i am looking for a kind of Registry-Snapshot application.
Is there a little well testet and trustfull application out there which makes scheduled (or at each boot) Registry snapshots to a second non boot partition? It should have also the possibility to restore the Registry by accessing it from a bootable CD, etc. Some suggestions?

Erunt is a little gem that can get you outta trouble - think it nearly suits your needs, have a look at it anyway.
Comes with a registry optimizer - NTREGOPT that will rebuild the registry.

I used that little soft a while ago, but i had problems, when starting from a Boot-CD, to execute the restore function. I cant remember the error messages, perhaps i should give it a try again.
