Hi,

Im trying to resize the size of a partition which Acronis Disk Director tells me cannot be done because of the presence of bad blocks.

Is there any way around this? Is it still possible to resize a partition with bad blocks using Acronis Disk Director?

Thank you for your time and good day.

Hello Dina,

Thank you for using Acronis Disk Management Software (http://www.acronis.com/enterprise/products/diskdirectorsuite/)

We strongly recommend against resizing a partition that contains bad blocks, as this could lead to a total data loss on this partition.
Acronis Disk Director does not allow you to resize partitions with bad blocks.
We recommend that you create an image of this partition using Acronis True Image 9.0 Home (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/), reformat the hard disk so the bad blocks are recovered and then restore the created image resizing the partition.

Thank you
