autoautoupdating

This is my first visit here, so pardon the possible dumb question
I recently upgraded my spyware blaster to the autoupdating version
and I noticed it does this at every boot, my query is this, is a new version coming out to allow a scheduled update rather then at boot, my pc is on all the time, DSL connection and a update at boot, is behind the times??
