Hoped I picked the right Forum for this.Mods., please feel free to move if deemed necessary There has been a lot of talk of late concerning Real Time Sec\Privacy apps. and their resource usage. So I thought a little comparison may be interesting. Please, list only Real time applications, memory usage of those shown in Task Manager.
ZA Pro vsmon =26,464K
DCSUserProt = 2,524K
nod32krn =17,448K
regport = 132K
zlclient = 3,888K
nod32kui = 919K
pgaccount = 2,716K
procguard = 5,204K (free vers.)
The following info. is optional. It seems that the same app. may use more\less resources on different PCs. Just curious if with this simple comparison we may spot a trend.
All are latest vers. fully updated where applicable.
Win2k SP4 all patched.
garage built PC; AMD XP 2.1GHz
Kingston 1.5 gig PC 400

No, there is an option to install a service in the beta version, so that the program will work before explorer.exe is loaded, thus offering more protection. However, it is a little buggy. Check out the look'n'stop forum for more info.

Not mentioned are Services that some or most are adding to the system and, Registry entries that are added which increase the OS's footprint - more RAM used by the OS on startup.
The only way to know how much is to subtract them from the system altogether - uninstall and clean out any vestiges.
So whatever the apparent process usage is, in reality its higher.

nod32kui.exe -- 2,616 K
Look 'n' Stop
LnSSvc.exe -- 1,604 K
loomnstop -- 8,060 K
the higher values i think can be attributed to the fact that i read these values right on startup. after a while the memory usage will start decreasing i suppose.
