What scans the IMON module?

I have a doubt:

The IMON module scans only the e-mails and the attachet files or it scans also the internet pages or files downloaded from internet?

I don't use e-mail client, in the past I used Outlook. Now I use an account in the Yahoo mail ¿Must I have activated the IMON module

If you don't use Outlook or any other email client you actually don't need IMON, if a Web based email contains a virus than AMON will catch it.
