View Full Version : True Image won't recognize my newly split partition

I have a Dell E1405 120GB HD. I split it 40/60 and tried to run True Image 9 clone utility. The message I get is that it is designed to work with (2) two or more drives and I only have (1) one. SO i went back and set the partition to Primary (before it was logical) and I get the same message. So I am at a loss right now as to how to figure this out.

Any help or hints will be apprciated!

Thanks

Riz

Hello Frank2006,

Thank you for using Acronis True Image 9.0 Home (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/)

Please note that "Clone Disk" wizard works only with two HDDs because it makes an exact copy of one entire HDD and writes it on another one.

If you need to make a copy of one or several partitions please use a "Copy Partition" wizard of Acronis Disk Director Suite (http://www.acronis.com/enterprise/products/diskdirectorsuite/).

Thank you

Hi,

Thanks for the info I will do that. One question though... how come if I split the drive and get (2) two drive letters C: and D: True Image thinks it is still one drive when programs I install think there are (2) two drives?

Thanks for your help!!

Hello,

Actually you have only one Hard Disk Drive divided into two partitions which have C: and D: letters.
"Clone Disk" wizard works only with the whole Hard Disk Drive, not with partitions.
So you need to plug one more Hard Disk Drive to clone an existing HDD to another one.

Thank you
