View Full Version : Disk Director Server and Resizing

I just purchased Disk Director Server specifically to resize my root partition on a W2K Server. During the re-boot, I get an error message from Disk Director stating DD cannot resize a partition with bad blocks. I have run disk check, etc. and everything appears fine. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Hello NoviceTechie,

Thank you for using Acronis Disk Management Software (http://www.acronis.com/enterprise/products/diskdirectorsuite/)

We strongly recommend against resizing a partition that contains bad blocks, as this could lead to a total data loss on this partition.
Acronis Disk Director does not allow you to resize partitions with bad blocks.
We recommend that you create an image of this partition using Acronis True Image 9.1 Server for Windows (http://www.acronis.com/enterprise/products/ATISWin/), reformat the hard disk so the bad blocks are recovered and then restore the created image resizing the partition.

Thank you
