Installing VMware Server & Windows in SUSE Linux

Hello,

As I promised 2 weeks ago, here's the article. Sorry to have kept you waiting, busy time schedule and work on other articles has delayed me a bit.

The article shows how you can install VMware Server in SUSE Linux and then use it to host Windows XP as a guest operating system and enjoy all the benefits of Windows software that you need, be it IE or other dedicated Windows-only programs. Furthermore, all the functionality will be retained, including networking, printing, usb etc.

Mrk, as a potential Linux noob I would like to install and run SimplyMepis as a virtual machine (using Windows' VMware Workstation). Do you have any advice or thoughts about my doing that? ~pv

Hello,

Install VMware Server in Windows. Create a virtual machine for Mepis. And then install Mepis into that virtual machine as you would install if it were a real system. Why don't you try some of my other articles, they might help?

Just follow the basic principles, you shouldn't go wrong.

P.S. If you need more detailed help, do not hesitate to ask, but if you read the first article (vmware_player), you will notice creating and running virtual machine is not difficult. Just invest the first 10-15 min reading. Don't rush.

Mrk, I don't have VMware Server, but I just recently installed VMware Workstation (which can do whatever VMware Player can do), so I will read your other articles.
