Hello. I've just used Acronis Disk Director to resize a partition, there were originally a 9.7GB and a 64.5GB paritition before. Before using Arconis Disk Director, I removed the 9.7GB partition, which was empty and formatted with Windows Disk Manager. Using Acronis Disk Director, I resized the 64.5GB partition inplace of the 9.7GB and ended up with one 74.2GB partition.

This is where the problem comes. After it was all complete, Acronis notes the capacity and the free space of the drive fine, while Windows can't even access it. Windows cannot read the drive, there is no option to mark the partition as "Active" and I've tried changing the drive letter. Is there any way I can recover the data?

Are you not able to make the disk active from the rescue CD ?

You definitely pressed the commit flag icon ?

I think your problem may be that in XP hasn't been able to update it's registry entries of the new mount points, unhelpfully I don't have any suggestions at the moment.

Nevermind. I fixed the problem using data recovery software. It turns out I misused Acronis' program, I was supposed to use the increase space option. Everyone, don't let this happen to you.
