I'll start off with a short background...
Last year, a buddy of mine was letting me share his network connection through his wireless router. When I went to setup, his router was not listed in the "Available Wireless Networks" list, but rather I had to manually go into the Wireless Network Connection Properties under the Wireless Networks tab and "Add" the network name (SSID) and password (network key).
Well, now I have my own wireless router and would like to do the very same thing, but I have no idea how.
So, overall my question is:
How can I configure my router to not "broadcast" or "share" it's network name with the windows "Available Wireless Networks" list and instead, manually enter in the information needed?
The reason I want this is so that people in these apartment complexes don't know that I have a router so that I am more secure when sharing files and folders over my network of two computers. I already have WPA encryption enabled and MAC address filtering on.
Hopefully this makes sence! I hope somebody can help me!
;D
BTW: It's been a while! I hope everything is going well amongst wilders! ;)
