Hiya maddawgz,
Have you found a solution yet? I seem to be having the exact same problem when trying to install the trial version of Panda Ti2006.

Just a stab here. Might be .msi remnants.
Windows Install Clean Up

The Windows Installer CleanUp Utility is provided "as is" to help resolve installation problems for programs that use Microsoft Windows Installer. If you use this utility, you may have to reinstall other programs. Caution is advised.

Following are the registry keys of Virus Chaser that Pandasoft checks if Virus Chaser is installed. Remove these keys will work for Panda installation.
In Windows 9X, it checks only 1 registry key.
1. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\VxD\SpIDer
In Windows NT series, it checks following registry keys.
1. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\drwebnet
2. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Eventlog\Application\spidernt
3. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SPIDERCTL
4. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\spidernt
5. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{2B2CCC2A-5EC6-11D6-9696-0090961B771E}\DisplayName
6. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{2B2CCC2A-5EC6-11D6-9696-0090961B771E}\UninstallString
