Hi guys,

I have a question regarding one of my customers.
He is running NOD32 on w2kpro, and he thinks NOD32 deleted 3 files with extension .exe.
Unfortunately they belonged to an e-mail gateway program, so this has te be installed again.

However, there is nothing mentioned in viruslog, and in quarantaine are no files visible.
We configure NOD32 for 95% like the advised settings published by blackspear.
We ALWAYS configure all actions to copy to quarantaine (if available).

I have asked the customer to check C:\PROGRAM FILES\ESET\INFECTED , but I'm waiting for his response (it may take a few days because it may take a few days for him to go there).

Therefore:
- is it possible that files are deleted without being visible in log or quarantaine? (yes in IMON logging all files is enabled)
- any advice for troubleshooting procedures?

Greetings and thanks in advance from a pretty hot Netherlands

No . NOD32 eliminates only malicious stuff , as you know , and everything done is in the log files .

Look again and carefully in the log files to be 100% sure . ;D

OK, that was the answer i was hoping to hear.

then I "only" have to convince somebody that there is someting else going wrong ;D
That is not gonna be easy i guess.. ::)

Maybe I can find the source.
