Doctor Web, Ltd. announces release of new improved version of popular freeware Dr.Web CureIt!. Dr.Web CureIt! is designed as a universal anti-virus scanner. Comparing to other freeware utilities of anti-virus vendors, which provide for selective detection of viruses prevailing at present only, Dr.Web CureIt! cures systems and detects all active viruses. It has already acquired new interactive interface and its control functionality has even more extended.

Till recently, the utility could be controlled by the mouse only. In Windows Safe Mode in certain cases mouse operation is not supported with USB-interface and the utility becomes uncontrollable. Even in standard mode, the problem with the mouse driver or any malfunction of it may also render the utility useless.

Now, the utility can be operated with the help of Tab buttons (Shift-Tab) and Enter (Space). They allow to select and execute the necessary menu item. Thus, the development of the utility aims to expand its utilization in difficult situations when safe mode should be used.

Besides, the number of supported languages has also been extended with Ukrainian language and now Dr.Web CureIt! supports 20 languages.

Makes me wonder why they don't impliment simple on-demand updater.
Downloading entire package is just hurting their servers and downloading sigs manually isn't something that many can actually do by themself.

I agree with you RejZoR! This will be the best solution to integrate an on-demand scanner.
But probably they want you to visit their website more often to see the promotions and perhps if you get angry downloading again and again the package to purchase the full version finally. ;D

This is probably the main reason why vendors offer free products. These are generally crippled in some way (there are exceptions) and therefore users may be tempted to trial/buy the full version.
