I just started using disk director. I have 2 drives, one has C: and D:. th.e other has G: and F: partitions. The display of the partitions shows C:26.86GB-then a box called unallocated 28.50-then D: 9.28 -and last-unallocated 9.21. This is on an 80 GB drive. I don't know how it got this way. How can I use this space-a new partition or add it to the existing partitions?
Thanks for any help. Tom

Hello tbecker1,
Thank you for using Acronis Disk Managing Software (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/diskdirector/)
You should create a partition from unallocated space using "Create partition" wizard first. Then you can easily merge partitions or change their size using appropriate function of Disk Director (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/diskdirector/). It is suitable way to create a partition from the first unallocated space and then to change size of D: using the unallocated space left.
You can read user guide (http://download.acronis.com/pdf/DiskDirectorSuite10.0_ug.en.pdf) to know how to manage your HDD.
Thank you

Thanks for the reply. I have done what you suggested and was successful in creating a new partition. When I changed the D: size to the sum of the D: drive and the unallocated space to the right of it, I got an indicated partition of the correct size but it has a red line under it. Is this OK ? Ihave not yet committed it. Tom

Hello Tom,
Thank you for using Acronis Disk Managing Software (http://www.acronis.com/enterprise/products/diskdirectorsuite/)
Please note, that the red emphasis, means nothing more than active selection. When clicked on another partition you'll see it becomes red underlined.
Thank you
